Story 1 | I Know You

Update:3rd June 2015

Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you. I do not have much time, and I am not even sure if you will even get to see this but I hope you do, whoever you are. But for you to understand everything, I must start from the beginning. Once you've heard my story, you will need to make a decision.

Am I crazy?

My name is Gideon, and I had just moved into town recently. I finally managed to convince my parents to let me study in a college away from my hometown. They didn't really trust that their young daughter would be able to handle the solitary life in a foreign place. I lived a really simple life. My family and friends were always with me wherever I went and while I knew I was loved, it wasn't until recent events that I became aware of how much I loved them too.

My life in a new town began rather smoothly. I unpacked my things from my car into the house of a relative my mom got in touch with recently, who then graciously allowed me to use it so long as I don't have ridiculous parties. Really didn't have to worry that much though. I was new in town, who was I going to invite anyway?

That's when I met him. I was still busy unloading my stuff into the house when I heard a knock on the door.

"Need any help over there?," he called from downstairs.

I peered out of the window, down from the two-level apartment to see the most amazing creature I ever laid eyes upon.

"That'd be a real help! Thanks!" I yelled back.

I shuffled down the stairs to open the door and greet him.

"Hi," he said with a smile, and with teeth so perfectly aligned you would think he was a movie star.

"Hello," I replied, conscientiously.

"I heard you from next door so thought I might come check out who the new neighbour was," he said with a small chuckle that I caught immediately.

"Did you just laugh at me?" I asked with a a grin.

"Yeah, I mean, I heard your grunts over from next door," he starts walking to the car and picks up the next box of things. "And I figured that I had better come help before I would have to listen to them all afternoon," he finished as he placed the box at my feet with a cheeky grin on his face.

"Thanks," I eyed him purposefully, giving him a cold glare out of jest then breaking into smiles uncontrollably.

"Well, I could use your help," I added. It was the truth.

"Say no more," he replied. And with that, my first afternoon concluded rather quickly, with a new friend made and with me successfully moving in.

The evening hues had already started to appear, with shades of purple and orange as the sun set when I showed him to the door, thanking him for his help before I realized something amidst the jokes we were making.

"Hey, we were so busy with the moving, I never even got your name."

He walked outside into the cold evening air and turned with a smile.

"My name is..."
